SUMMARY:Taurus Mountain Race
LOCATION:Antalya
DESCRIPTION:A 1\,460 km fixed-route\, unsupported\, single-stage bike race
that starts in Antalya\, traverses the heart of the Taurus range\, loops i
t and then pushes on to finish on the Mediterranean west of Mersin. The cl
ock never stops and there are no prizes. The route runs on gravel\, single
and double track and old livestock trails known only to the people who li
ve in these mountains\; there is very little tarmac\, some walking\, and a
t times great distances between resupply points. The terrain moves from fo
rest to rocky peaks to remote desert plateaus\, and ranks among the most d
emanding in the country. Riders enter solo or as a pair. Entry is by appli
cation\, assessing whether a rider can make safe decisions alone in the mo
 untains — multi-day bikepacking experience\, preferably off-road and rem
ote\, is what the organizer expects. The fee is £420 per rider\, plus £8
0 tracker rental if needed and a £50 media licence for sponsored riders (
no TRY figure here\, since it moves with the exchange rate). Applications
for 2026 are closed and the race is fully subscribed.
