The Mediterranean region — centred on Antalya and Alanya — runs the longest race and triathlon season in Turkey. Its mild winters mean events can be held here even in December-February, months when cold weather rules out racing elsewhere in the country, making it a draw for athletes training or racing through winter. Flat-to-rolling coastal courses suit half-marathon and marathon distances, while summer sea temperatures reach ideal conditions for triathlon and open-water swimming.
