About This Event
Run in Denizli's Pamukkale district, this half marathon skirts the famous white travertine terraces before finishing among the columns of ancient Hierapolis. Also marking the Republic's founding, it brings runners of all levels together on a UNESCO World Heritage route through 5K and 10K companion distances. The measured courses are 5.5 km, 10 km and 21.0975 km. All three undulate, as the ground around Pamukkale and the ancient city dictates, and all three finish with 2 km on the cobblestones inside the ruins, the rest being asphalt — which is why the organizer recommends road shoes and specifically advises against trail shoes. Marshals, tape and ground markings are in place along the route.
